My fingers are itching to write this Armani Luminous Silk foundation review! I don’t know really why it took me such a long time to repurchase this foundation but I have completely forgotten how divine this is. I was hunting for a new foundation for the fall and winter months.
I love my Estee Lauder Double Wear Light but I do find it to be a bit dry on my skin when it gets cooler. I had originally wanted to splurge on the Marc Jacobs foundation that also has rave reviews because it sounded like it would suit my skin, but they didn’t have it in the shop I was in in London. And since I was committed to splurging I wondered over to the Armani shop and got myself the Luminous Silk foundation.
I have used this foundation before, but as I said I had completely forgotten what it was all about. It is unbelievably great. It looks like foundation, and you know that you have foundation on your skin but you can’t see it and you can’t feel it. Its incredibly light! It is medium coverage but you can apply a second layer if you feel you need more (but I never do even in the evenings.) The color choices are good, and the packaging is supremely luxurious, although it won’t be seeing the world with me as it is in a bulky glass bottle, not very travel friendly.
It does not last as well as the Estee Lauder Double Wear on my T-zone, I have a feeling that I need to blot and re-powder about two hours sooner than with DW, but to be perfectly honest, that isn’t a whole lot of effort and once I do it lasts though into the evening. And it’s just so flawless, it doesn’t move, it doesn’t flake, it doesn’t go blotchy and there is no oxidation. I would recommend this to all skin types, but powder if your skin is oily.
My favorite way to apply this? Well, no surprises here, the Real Techniques Face Expert Brush!
